UDOT Begins $34M Strawberry Valley Passing Lane Project

UDOT has begun a $34M 5-mi. extension of U.S. 40 in the Strawberry Valley.
UDOT has begun a $34M 5-mi. extension of U.S. 40 in the Strawberry Valley.

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) began construction work to improve safety and mobility on U.S. 40 between Daniels Summit and Soldier Creek. Intermittent work zones will operate throughout 17 mi. of U.S. 40 on the west side of Strawberry Reservoir.

Project improvements include the following:

  • Rebuild pavement surface to improve smoothness and extend life of the roadway;
  • widen roadway for westbound passing lane, wider shoulders and center turn lane at specific intersections to improve safety and mobility; and
  • construct wildlife under-crossing and deer fencing.

Construction activity anticipated May through November 2019, with finish work in 2020.
