Vanair Manufacturing Inc. has introduced the Viper Diesel D80 cfm rotary screw air compressor.

With a new design, the Viper Diesel’s range of 100 to 150 psi delivers enough power to operate 90 lbs. jack hammers as well as 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm) impact wrenches. Its compact footprint is small enough to fit behind the cab of your vehicle or be mounted on the sidepack. It also provides the operator with the ability to turn off the truck while still being able to have access to big powerful air, according to the manufacturer.

This unit is equipped with an infinitely variable throttle control to minimize fuel consumption and features a Tier IV Final certified Kubota engine.

The Viper Diesel is completely self-contained and easily transferable via a lifting bail. It also features the V-TEC Vanair total electronic control system. This technology allows for diagnostic and speed control, including air pressure and temperature, engine rpm and fuel level. The panel includes automatic starting with glow plug activation and shutdown fault display. Depending on the mounting configuration, this panel can be mounted in a few configurations with an optional extension harness to make the remote controls more easily accessible.

Dean Strathman, vice president, Abovedecks said, “We are very excited about the design of Viper Diesel. Its portability and compact size has given our dealer’s a real advantage in the marketplace. Best of all, the Viper Diesel is the lowest price diesel driven air compressor per cfm in the marketplace.”

Dan Ramirez, engineer and project manager added, “The new Diesel Viper will provide reliable air power in a compact footprint. Its size will free up valuable bed space and the V-TEC Vanair total electronic control system will keep both fuel consumption and sound levels down when not operating at capacity. All in all, the package was designed to make the user’s life easier while seamlessly lowering operating costs and simplifying maintenance tasks.”

The Viper Diesel is practical for post pounding, directional boring, irrigation services as well as rental markets and monument engraving.
