Almost 14 months ago to the day, a monster tornado ripped through Eloy, Ariz., tearing off roofs, downing power lines and even overturning semi-trucks. Miles of homes and businesses were flattened by the enormous storm.

One of those businesses, Arizona Equipment Rentals, which was acquired by Volvo Rents in February, is on the mend.

Originally located at 508 South Sunshine Blvd., the construction equipment rental center has relocated to a new 15,000-sq.-ft. facility specifically built for Volvo Rents at 200 South Sunshine Blvd.

“We are proud of the opening of this new store as we continue to grow our business in this exciting growth region,” said Michael Crouch, vice president of Business Development of Volvo Rents, noting that the business continued to operate without a roof overhead since the devastating storm essentially leveled the building last August.

“As the old saying goes, ’the show must go on,’ and we refused to let the storm keep us from servicing our customers,” Crouch said. “We knew it would be challenging, but we survived. So did our business and our loyal customer base.”

In addition to Volvo Rents’ expanding line of Volvo compact equipment — such as backhoe and skid steer loaders, compact wheel loaders, compact excavators and compaction equipment — the rental center carries a comprehensive line of essential equipment and tools for the construction, commercial, industrial and homeowner markets. The focus is on daily, weekly and monthly rentals.

While store hours will remain Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the company offers 24-hour service, every day of the week.
