Weighing only 100 lb. (45.4 kg), the new AD 115LGR (low grain refrigerant) dehumidifier from Wacker Neuson Climate Technology draws more moisture from the air at lower humidity levels to decrease drying time. Its compact size and semi-pneumatic tires offer easy one-person movement through doorways, up stairs and around the job site to position the unit where it’s needed. Optimizing performance in applications ranging from restoration and new construction to reconstruction and humidity control, the CSA-approved AD 115LGR dehumidifier delivers a temperature operating range of 40 to 104F (4 to 40C).
Featuring a two-stage coil design, the unit provides 115 pint-per-day (35.5 L-per-day) moisture removal at AHAM (80F, 60 percent RH). Using environmentally friendly R-410A refrigerant, the AD 115LGR removes more moisture from the air at lower temperatures and relative humidity than conventional dehumidifiers. As the temperature and humidity levels drop, this new Wacker Neuson dehumidifier continues drawing moisture from the air, so drying time is kept to a minimum, according to the manufacturer.
The new AD 115LGR features a 11,200 Btu (3.3 kW) rotary compressor, and its 300 cfm blower maximizes moisture pull-down by delivering increased air exchanges per hour. Dual 5-in. (12.7 cm), multi-purpose rear air exhaust vents allow contractors to direct processed air away from the dehumidifier to wet areas within the structure. Contractors can equip the machine with either optional 10-in. (25.4-cm) layflat or 2- by 5-in. (5 by 12.7 cm) ductwork to direct the hot, dry airflow to moisture-laden areas. The AD 115LGR comes standard with a disposable pleated filter with a MERV 7 rating. An optional washable mesh MERV 1 filter also is available.
The dehumidifier’s high-impact rotomolded housing withstands the rigors of operation, making the AD 115LGR rental- and user-friendly. Delivering fast and convenient set-up, the AD 115LGR Dehumidifier features electronic controls that offer simple operation and eliminate knobs and buttons that can be easily damaged on the job or during transport. A digital hour meter records job times and has standard battery back-up for quick review of the meter, even when the unit is unplugged. The machine’s purge control setting quickly empties condensate from the pump reservoir to avoid spillage during transport.
Integrated upper and lower handles facilitate lifting and moving the dehumidifier and reduce the need for replacement parts. The housing design enables both horizontal and vertical stacking of the unit — up to two high — to save space at the shop and during transport. The dehumidifier’s shock-absorbing, semi-pneumatic wheels offer simple navigation over uneven surfaces and up and down stairs.
