Construction Equipment Guide

Wacker Neuson’s three new series of portable indirect fired heaters for the construction, residential and restoration markets — the HI 110, HI 200 and HI 300 series — offer reliable operation, even when the temperature drops below 0F (minus 18C). Available in both standard- and heavy-duty models, the heavy-duty designs feature integrated lifting points, increased structural support and bracing and cold weather packages that produce clean, moisture-free air heat in extreme cold weather conditions reaching minus 40F (minus 40C), depending on model, according to the manufacturer.

These versatile and robust air heaters feature a compact design that fit through most doorways and large pneumatic tires to improve job site mobility, allowing contractors to move the heat to where it’s needed. Offering up to a 2,531 cfm air movement and a 250F (121C) output maximum temperature, the new Wacker Neuson heaters deliver a heat output ranging from 90,273 to 245,475 Btu/hr. (26.4 to 71.9 kW). These units are capable of heating spaces ranging from 150,455 to 409,125 cu. ft. (4,260 to 11,585 cu m) or drying spaces from 61,260 to 151,860 cu. ft. (1,735 to 4,300 cu m), depending on the model.

Operating on diesel and featuring large fuel tanks, these CSA-certified heaters deliver more than a full workday’s operation without refueling. The control panel at the side of each heater has a convenient side outlet for attaching a remote thermostat, which helps to maintain optimum operating temperature inside the structure and improves fuel savings.

The HI 100, HI 200 and HI 300 indirect fired heaters produce healthy, moisture free air to any job site without the use of an open flame or combustion by-products. Offering simple set-up and operation, these heaters create an ideal work environment within the structure to keep the trades on schedule. The new portable heaters operate at heating efficiencies in excess of 80 percent, according to the manufacturer.

Each heater series offers two different models: the standard-duty HI 110 D, HI 200 D, HI 300 D, rated for low-temperature operation of minus 4F (minus 20C); and the heavy-duty HI 110HD D, HI 200HD D and HI 300HD D, rated for low-temperature operation of minus 40F (minus 40C). With the exception of the HI 300HD D, all new indirect fired heater models offer a single air outlet design: 12-in. (30.5 cm) diameter for the HI 100 Series; 14-in. (35.6 cm) diameter for the HI 200 Series; and 16-in. (40.6 cm) for the HI 300 D. The heavy-duty HI 300HD D design includes two, 12-in. diameter air outlets, offering increased flexibility in directing the heat to where it’s needed.
