Wacker is now offering its WM engine series on its smaller reversible plate series. The BPU 2540 is powered by the 6-hp (4.5 kW) WM 170 and the BPU 3050 is powered by the 9-hp (6.7 kW) WM 270 engine. These engines offer a chain driven, overhead cam design that delivers improved performance, longer life, easy starting and quieter operation, according to the manufacturer.
Packaged with these engines, the BPU 2540 and BPU 3050 offer an integrated wheel set that provides increased mobility around the showroom, shop floor and job site. A single lever directional control provides easy operation and an adjustable guide handle can be locked into a vertical position for easy transportation and storage.
These reversible plates are designed for confined area compaction of granular and mixed soil. They are ideal for use in utility trenches, landscape applications, including pavings stones, and road, bridge and parking lot construction.
The BPU 2540 and BPU 3050 offer fully hydraulic forward and reverse operation with spot compaction for easy use in tight areas and maneuverability for all applications.
The BPU 2540 weighs 309 lbs. (140 Kg) and has a baseplate width of 15.5 in. (39 cm). This plate produces 5,625 lbs. of centrifugal force.
The BPU 3050 weighs 366 lbs. (166 Kg), offers a 19.5-in. (49 cm) baseplate and produces 6,750 lbs. of centrifugal force.
Both models come with a complete two-year engine and machine warranty.
