W.I. Clark invited customers, friends and families to the grand opening of its new facility in Plainfield, Conn., Jan. 23 and 24.
The two-day event drew more than 200 guests. The first day ran from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and dinner was provided. The second day’s event, held on a Saturday, began at 9 a.m. and concluded at 2 p.m. during which lunch was served.
Both days of the grand opening event featured presentations by and opportunities to meet with several representatives from the equipment manufacturers W.I. Clark carries. Representatives included Kevin Howlett and Steve Cary of John Deere, John O’Brien of John Deere Credit, Nick Davidson of CEC, Steve Bunce of Bunce Industries, Charlie Gotta of Bell Power, Duane Fredericks of MTG and Ken LeMay of John Deere Landscapes.
Guests also had the opportunity to win a variety of door prizes and even participate in a Super Bowl pool. Prizes included certificates for John Deere merchandise, a remote-control bulldozer toy, a John Deere bike, duffle bags, shirts and more. The first 100 guests were entered in a Super Bowl pool for the game held Feb. 1. The winner received a flat screen television.
Work on W.I. Clark’s facility in Plainfield, Conn., began in March 2008 and wrapped up in late October 2008. The company’s headquarters is in Wallingford, Conn., and it has another branch in Brookfield, Conn.
