It was a terrific turnout for Wirtgen America Inc. when the company hosted an Open House event at the its North American headquarters in Nashville during the World of Asphalt 2003 show and conference. Attendees had the opportunity to tour Wirtgen’s $4-million, 74,000-sq.-ft. ultramodern facility which houses the company’s training center, warehouse and service area, racing trophy room, offices, and conference and board rooms.
Equipment displays of Wirtgen, Hamm, and Vögele machines filled the front parking lots and lined the drive areas around the building. A lot of great food and beverages were served while the crowd enjoyed, what Nashville’s famous for, country music at its finest.
The big news of the night was the introduction of the new Hamm HDO90V oscillatory/vibratory roller. Stu Murray, president and CEO of Wirtgen America, gave a comprehensive presentation of the advantages of this new revolutionary oscillatory technology.
“Bonuses are won or lost with the pass of a vibratory roller,” stated Murray. “Hamm Compaction Division’s new oscillatory technology allows unparalleled control leading into and maintaining density in the critical target density range. Innovative Hamm Oscillatory technology works, and that’s why it is proving so popular in intermediate and finish asphalt compaction applications.”
Murray concluded the presentation with an outdoor demonstration of the new Hamm HDO90V in action.
