The Work Truck Show 2012 was held March 6 to 8, 2012, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. The 47th Annual National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Convention was held in conjunction with the trade show.

George W. Bush, the 43rd President of the United States, was the featured keynote speaker of the President’s Breakfast & 48th Annual NTEA Meeting. Also during the meeting, Frank Livas, president of Brake & Clutch Inc., Salem, Mass., was named the 48th president of the NTEA, taking over responsibilities from Steve Sill, president of Aspen Equipment Co., Bloomington, Minn. NTEA Senior Executive Director Jim Carney, who served the association for 36 years and plans to retire from the association in April, was recognized for his contributions to the truck equipment industry.

The trade show featured more than 560 exhibitors displaying their vocational truck equipment, supplies and services over 500,000 sq. ft. of exhibit hall space. The event also offered more than 60 educational sessions and new product launches focused on vocational trucks and transportation equipment from Classes 1 to 8, including chassis, bodies, components and accessories introduced throughout the course of the three-day event.

Hosted by the Work Truck Show and held in conjunction with the event, the Green Truck Summit was held March 5 and 6. United States Secretary of Energy Steven Chu gave the keynote address and attendees learned about the advantages of propane autogas, including cost savings and refueling ease in the Propane Education & Research Council’s (PERC) Propane Autogas Pavilion. Twenty-one environmentally friendly vehicles were presented for display during the Green Truck Ride-and-Drive.
