Yancey Bros Co. Welcomes Guests to New Macon Facility

The official ribbon-cutting took place with Jim Stephenson, Yancey Bros. Co., chairman and CEO, and Trey Googe, Yancey Bros. Co. president and COO, wielding the big scissors in the middle of this group and flanked by local dignitaries and key Yancey management members.

Receving a tour of the service facility and checking on the status of the machine rebuild of their Cat D6N LGP are James Parker (L) and Steve Rigby (C), both of Rigby’s Construction based in Warner Robbins, Ga. Helping them is Yancey’s Macon shop manager, Phil Ivey.

Enjoying the day’s festivities (L-R) are William Shepherd of C.W. Mathews Contracting, Marietta, Ga.; Girard Jones and Josh Knight of Total Lubricants, Atlanta, Ga.; and Walter Massey, Schnitzer Scrap Medals, Portland, Ore.

A spectacular turnout of Caterpillar representatives came out to lend their support for the event including (L-R) Justin Schmidt, Cat Forest Products; Joel Ivaska, Cat, GCI; JR Lorenzitti, Cat, BCP; and Andrew Cardnial, Cat, GCI.

A wide-open lobby and extremely well stocked Cat merchandising area give a welcoming feel to the entry of the new facility.

Old friends and customers attended the event including (L-R) Billy Crump, Lakay Enterprises Inc., Fort Valley, Ga. and president of the Georgia Utility Contractors Association; Billy Gray, Chatham Parke Apartments, Houston County, Ga.; and Horace Stringfellow, Yancey Bros. Co., sales, Macon, Ga.

A terrific collection of antique tractors were on display for the celebration.

Yancey Bros. Co. hosted more than 750 of its customers and friends to the brand-new Macon, Ga., facility for a grand opening and ribbon cutting event on Friday, March 9th. In addition to some uplifting speeches from ownership and local dignitaries, this huge event featured a catered low country boil, facility tours, live entertainment and lots of equipment displays.

Company representatives stated that other than the Yancey 100th anniversary event in Austell, Ga., a few years ago, this was probably one of the largest turnouts of customers ever hosted at a Yancey event. It also was mentioned that there were “a ton of giveaways,” including hats, cozies, gun cases, t-shirts, $500 parts/service credits and a grand prize of a Cat RP3600 portable generator and more.

Scores of representatives from Yancey Bros. Co. from all over Georgia converged on Macon, GA to witness the historic opening of the new Macon facility, as well as, scores of Caterpillar representatives from all divisions.
