Caterpillar’s first-ever on-highway truck model rolled onto the showroom floor at Yancey Bros. Co.’s Austell, Ga., headquarters on July 22. Contractors and trucking firm representatives turned out in droves with approximately 300 attending the preview of the new Cat CT660 which was held in conjunction with Yancey’s customer appreciation cookout.

Designed with the truck operator in mind, the cab construction of the Cat CT660 vocational truck is the result of customer input and years of Caterpillar research. The customizable chassis provides more than 20 different vocational configurations including dump, refuse, hauler and mixer body types.

Kevin Newsome of Newsome Trucking Inc., Ball Ground, Ga., gave high marks for the new CAT vocational trucks.

“Overall, I really liked it. I like the cab design, it was very comfortable. The frame seemed extremely durable. It’s just an all around good looking truck. Was very happy with it and I can’t wait to get to drive one of them. I think this is something that I want to consider for a future purchase.”

Gary Horton of Horton’s Inc., Newnan, Ga. also was quite impressed with the CT660.

“It’s a good-looking truck. I love the ground clearance and the options on it. I think it will fit my applications and I’m very serious about purchasing one. Yancey has given me great support in the past on my Caterpillar equipment and I’m confident they’ll do the same for the truck line.”
