Yanmar to power 35th America's Cup as the Official Marine Engines Partner

The 35th America's Cup takes place in Bermuda from May 26 through June 25.

The America's Cup is pleased to announce that Yanmar Co. Ltd. has become the Official Marine Engines Partner for the 35th America's Cup.

The 35th America's Cup takes place in Bermuda from May 26 through June 25. Yanmar's marine diesel engines will be used on the VIP shuttle boat, which takes guests out to the race course area to watch the best sailors in the world compete for the oldest trophy in international sport.

"Through our partnership with Yanmar we can deliver a VIP experience for our guests," said Russell Coutts, the CEO of the America's Cup Event Authority. "We need reliability, performance and an environmentally sound power source, and Yanmar delivers on all counts."

Yanmar's President Takehito Yamaoka commented on the partnership: "For many years, Yanmar's marine engines have been much loved by pleasure boat enthusiasts all over the world. The America's Cup is the competition for the oldest trophy in international sport. The 35th America's Cup opens in Bermuda with the Louis Vuitton America's Cup Qualifiers on May 26. Beginning June 4, the Louis Vuitton America's Cup Challenger Playoffs will determine the ultimate Challenger who will face the defending champion of the America's Cup, ORACLE TEAM USA beginning June 17.
