Yoder & Frey has delivered a record breaking “end of year” one‑day Kissimmee auction that saw a 20 percent leap in first time bidders registering; helping push the total number of bidders close to the 1200 mark.
The quality and number of international vendors also has soared as consignors start to appreciate the global reach now being achieved by Yoder & Frey scheduled auctions and opting consign quality used equipment into the sales. This in turn helped boost average lot prices by more than 40 percent compared to the previous lot price achieved earlier in the year.
Every U.S. state was represented with several hundred coming from Florida alone. They were also joined by buyers located in 36 separate countries, including many from across the Caribbean, from Canada and Europe. Amongst the top countries by hammer total outside the United States was Canada, Puerto Rico and Jamaica. While floor hammer totals remain high, international interest in the lots also is reflected in the huge number of bidders selecting to participate via Yoder & Frey's own internet bidding portal.
“We've been working extremely hard over the past year and we are now reaping the rewards,” said Peter Clark, CEO of Yoder & Frey. “With increased promotional initiatives, new domestic and international consignors are entrusting us to maximize the hammer prices they can achieve. Having quality equipment also means we're attracting more bidder interest from both across the U.S. and increasingly from a wider number of international buyers all looking to acquire quality used, low-hours equipment to meet their expanding equipment needs.
“We're seeing buoyant interest in all our upcoming sales, particularly from operators looking for equipment to extent their capabilities in supporting the massive clean-up operations that are now being implemented following the recent destructive storms in the Caribbean and Southern States.”
Auctions in December Plus Upcoming 'Mega' Auction
The next Yoder & Frey auctions comprise an offsite auction for Mitchell Contracting Company LLC featuring a good mix of earth moving equipment, trucks and trailers on Dec. 5 in Georgia, and then on Dec. 7 in Ohio the sale features the usual selection of construction and earthmoving equipment right down to garage equipment, tools and spares, offering potential buyers a great opportunity to acquire some impressive lots.
Preparations are also well in hand for hosting the world's largest “engine sale.” This mega event, part of the upcoming Kissimmee winter sale and being held in Florida between Feb. 13 and 17, 2018, will see a host of specialized engines and power plants being sold alongside a host of heavy construction and agricultural equipment.
More than 1,000 lots have already been consigned to the February sale, including a growing inventory of diesel engines for trucks and heavy construction machinery, power plants for agricultural machinery and equipment.
