Interested in some of the wheel loaders in the sale are Rick Sowers (L) and Richard Sowers of Sowers Construction Company, Mt. Airy, N.C. (L-R): Colt Pitcher and Jeff Pitcher of Northern Snow & Dirt, Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Don Bullard of Bullard Excavating, Andalusia, Ala., were mutually interested in a Komatsu wheel loader. Looking for bargains on parts and engines at the auction are Mike Sisco (L) and Ronnie Love of Yancey Used Parts, Savannah, Ga. The husband and wife team Kurtis Hoffman (in cab) and Harriett Hoffman of Hoffman Trucking & Excavating, Hopkins, Miss., give a Caterpillar 315BL a thorough inspection. Larry Lambert of Lambert Equipment, Samson, Ala., gives this John Deere 570 motorgrader a good going over.   Registered bidders were literally dropping out of the sky on excavator sale day at the Yoder & Frey auction. High bidder and new owners of this Caterpillar 315BL excavator are the boys from McCorkle Sales, Claxton, Ga. (L-R): David Roberts, Lemmon McCorkle and Terry McCorkle. Measuring the undercarriage width for hauling his newest purchase, a SANY SY235C excavator, back to Indiana is Jim Zimmer of APEX Excavation based in Westville, Ind.  Ready to talk to auction attendees about the lineup of Talbert Trailers at the Lucky’s Truck & Trailer Sales display area (L-R) are Lucky Dimmick, Russ Losh and Jeff Barry. Excavator day drew a crowd and some fast-paced bidding at the Yoder & Frey auction.  Butch McCaleb of Starr Parts and Equipment came in from New Plymouth, Ohio, to take in the Yoder & Frey auction. Ron Scurlock (L) of RF Scurlock Construction Company, based in Ohio, catches up with Ron Keis of Yoder & Frey. Yoder & Frey President Peter Clark monitors the action as Joey Martin calls out another winning bid. Yoder & Frey’s Casey Allen (L) and Cassandra Wright take a very brief time out before heading into the sale site office to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. In town from Michigan for the auction, Holland Equipment Service’s Andrew Geurink takes in the auction activities. Larry Clapp (R) of Clapp Excavating in Ashmore, Ill., tries on a Komatsu PC55 mini-excavator while Rick Bowman of Expert Excavating Inc., based in Fort Pierce, Fla., tries out a Bobcat 435 mini-excavator. Bill and Red Feathers try to remember where they parked their car. Rick Lundy (L) and John Jeddrey, who came down from New Hampshire to escape the snow and maybe buy some equipment, check out this Volvo loader. Harry Hale of Hale Heavy Bushhogging came to the auction from New Port Ritchie, Fla.  Larry Nardi of Dennison Bridge travelled from Ohio, hoping for some warmer weather and a few good buys. Robbie (L) and James Alberson of Robbie’s Equipment enjoy the good weather while they look over some of the excavators. They are from Widener, Ark. Alden (L) and Leslie Perkins are enjoying meeting old friends at the auction. Alden owns APEquipment in Seffner, Fla. Randy Wright, owner of Wright’s Excavating in St. Cloud, Fla., takes a close look at this Komatsu WA380.

Yoder & Frey held its 42nd annual Florida Auctions sale Feb. 8 to 15 in Kissimmee, Fla.

The seven-day auction featured a huge assortment of backhoes, wheel loaders, excavators, dozers, dump trucks, motorgraders, paving equipment, attachments and much more. Attendance was strong as many bidders from all over the United States once again took advantage of the great Florida weather and bargains on iron.
