Clifford Miller of Miller Engineering, Marion, N.C., looks over this Hitachi excavator. According to Jo and Arden Shell of Arden Shell Truck and Equipment, the weather is much better here than in Michigan. This Hitachi excavator may be going to Connecticut with Chris Davis of JHD Corp., if the price is right. Eager Beaver showed off its new 100-ton trailer — the 100 GSL. The staff of BTM Machinery, based in Charleston, S.C., were out in full force at the Yoder sale and (L-R) included Blake Thornton, Marsh Howard and Clay Thornton. Guys with some serious deep thinking going on (L-R) are Clayton Mullins, Mullins Machinery, Hickory, Ky.; Victor Brown, Charles Brown Trucking, Hixson, Tenn.; and Billy Seals, Thompson Tractor, Birmingham, Ala. Looking for deals while enjoying some terrific weather at the Florida auctions are Mike Zyndorf (L), Mike Zyndorf Equipment, Mays Landing, N.J., and Dan McHugh, Brookside Equipment Sales, Phillipston, Mass. Tim Thomas of Tractor & Equipment Company, Birmingham, Ala., jots down a couple of notes on a Komatsu WA450 wheel loader. These guys from Abingdon, Va., were very interested in this Caterpillat IT28G tool carrier. The proud new owner of this Caterpillar IT28G is Steve Mohre of M&M Asphalt, Blakeslee, Ohio. Robert Calph (L) of AJ’s Lawn Care & Landscape Service, Fredonia, N.Y., talks about his newest acquisition, this Case W24C loader, with Kevin Reading of St. George Enterprises, also based in Fredonia. The Yoder & Frey ringmen scan the crowd for one more bid before the gavel drops on another piece of iron. The office staff at Yoder & Frey once again managed the impossible — registering and attending to the needs of thousands of bidders. This American bald eagle seemed to be enjoying this demonstration of good old fashion American capitalism at its very best at the Yoder & Frey sale. Jimmy Davis, president of Davis Auction in Conn., is sporting a new ATV. Another couple of snowbirds escaped the weather nightmare in New England. Oscar Plourde (L) from Suncook, N.H., and , John Neville of Neville Construction, Goffstown, N.H. Brendan Wray of the Wrays LLC, Sawyer, Kan., considers a bid on the Volvo L180E wheel loader. Auctioneer Joey Martin calls out another winning bid. Mark Pentz of Calvin Group Inc., based in Colorado, came to the auction hoping to find some asphalt equipment bargains. Jim Motsic (L) and Richard Curry of Curry Excavating, Duncansville, Pa., were impressed with the number of graders up for bid. Yoder & Frey held its 41st annual Florida Auctions sale Feb. 9 to 16 in Kissimmee, Fla.

The seven-day auction featured a huge assortment of backhoes, wheel loaders, excavators, dozers, dump trucks, motorgraders, paving equipment, attachments and much more. Attendance was strong as many bidders from all over the United States, once again took advantage of the great Florida weather and bargains on iron.
