Felling Trailers Inc. announced the opening of its new powder coat paint facility at 1525 Main St. S in Sauk Centre, Minn. The 92,000-sq.-ft. facility will speed up the throughput of trailers, as paint has historically been a bottle neck in the production process. The new facility will alleviate this issue with its higher output capacity.

This new facility will allow for application of a powder coat paint finish to trailers and components through an automated process utilizing GEMA Technology with a Therma-Tron-X-Inc. (TTX) sensor trolley track system.

"Back in 2016, when we first started our planning process, we were insistent that the performance characteristics exceed anyone else in the industry," said Patrick Jennissen, vice president of sales/marketing of Felling Trailers Inc. "We have always prided ourselves on aesthetics, longevity and performance of our paint. Our customers have come to expect that from us, and we wanted to make sure that we exceeded their expectations."

A staging area allows product to be placed prior to being loaded to a trolley. Additional features include an E-Room — humidity and temperature-controlled rooms that provide the optimal environment for the application of powder coating and six 3-axis pneumatic lift systems — two for blast, two in the primer booth and two in the topcoat booth.

"We knew at the outset that solution would need to be flexible to allow us to more easily adapt to new technology up until it goes live and also beyond," said Brenda Jennissen, CEO of Felling Trailer Inc. "This strategy will allow us to always being driving innovative coating solutions in the industry moving forward."
