Dealers Race to Inspect Daewoo Iron, Joe Gibbs Facility
Dealers and race fans had an opportunity in late February to not only check out a presentation of the 2003 Daewoo excavator models, but also to tour Joe Gibbs Racing Headquarters in North Carolina. After a welcome and meeting topic outline from Tim O’ Malley, and an introduction and presentation from Joe Gibbs, guests were given Daewoo’s 2002 results and the company’s 2003 agenda. In mid-morning, attendees were introduced to the new Daewoo excavator and wheel loader Solar V Series models for 2003, which include the 210 WV, 180 WV and 140 WV wheel loaders and the 470 LCV, 420LCV, 340 LCV, 300 LCV, 255 LCV, 225 LCV, 175 LCV and 55 VP excavators....

Daewoo Heavy Industries Enters Into an Agreement With Komatsu Limited of Japan
Komatsu Limited of Japan and Daewoo Heavy Industries and Machinery Corporation of Korea entered into a two-year agreement for Komatsu to supply equipment to Daewoo for distribution through Daewoo’s distributor network in Korea. SKorea Indicts 34 Former Daewoo Execs
South Korean prosecutors said they had indicted 34 former executives and auditors of bankrupt Daewoo Group for allegedly rigging the conglomerate’s financial records between 1997 and 1999. Prosecutors said the individuals manipulated financial statements to obtain $8 billion in bank loans between 1997 and 1999. However, prosecutors canceled an earlier decision to indict former Daewoo Group chairman Kim Woo-choong, due to their inability to bring him in for questioning, Kang Kap-jin, a spokesman for the Supreme Prosecutors Office, told Reuters. The former chairman has been spotted in Nice, according to local reports, where he reportedly owns a luxury villa, and in the Sudan, where the conglomerate engaged in major construction projects....
