Power Pavers Inc., located in Cedar Falls, Iowa, manufactures the SF-3000, a two- track high production concrete slipform paver.

The SF-3000 paves widths from 12 to 27 ft. (3.6 to 8.2 m) with integral curb on one or both sides. With optional extensions, the paver will slipform concrete up to 32 ft. (9.7 m) wide.

With its hydraulic legs, loading for transport is easy. The legs lift 42 in. (107 cm), allowing the lowboy to be backed under the machine.

Kelly Cunningham, owner of Cunningham Construction of Cedar Falls, Iowa, said that the slipform pavers are user friendly and easy to move.

“You back right under the machine,” he said.

The side forms hydraulically widen 3 in. (7.6 cm) and raise 3 in., allowing the operator to back the machine over the previous day’s pour and start paving right off the header. This eliminates gaps and blow-out in the product and results in less hand work.

The machine’s exact match-up between side forms and the paving pan result in a crisp, sharp edge.

The machine hydraulically crowns on the go. It has an all-hydraulic elevation sensor control system. The hydraulic speed controlled split tamper bar system is staggered for smooth operation. The double bar prevents crusting in the vibration area.

Concrete is evenly spread, using the independently controlled split 18-in. (45.7 cm) diameter hard-surfaced auger system that is reversible.

Randy Satter, paving superintendent of New Design Construction in Denver, Colo., called the overall product great with “some sections that are zero profilagraph.”

“You don’t get any better than that,” he said.

Power Pavers Inc., was established by Power Curbers Inc., and now manufactures placer spreaders, form-riding pavers and texture cure machines, as well as slipform pavers.
